Victor Frankenstein
Frankenstein is the protagonist of the novel Frankenstein. He marries Elizabeth Lavenza later on in the novel. While studying biology in Ingolstadt, he creates an smart yet, grotesque creature. As soon as his creation awakens he finds if disgustingly horrifying. Victor keeps his monster a secret from others and abandons him. Frankenstein regrets creating the monster. Victor feels guiltier and guiltier as he realizes he cannot keep the monster from ruining his life and other lives.
The Monster
Victor Frankenstein created this hideous monster only looking to fit in. Frankensteins creation seeks friendship with the De Lacey Family but, the family rejects the monster instead of befriending. The monster is sensitive and feels just like every other human being. Every person the monster comes in contact with is afraid of him and runs from him. Since the monster is shunned by society, he seeks revenge on his creator, Victor Frankenstein.
Elizabeth Lavenza
Elizabeth was an orphan who was adopted by the Frankenstein family. She is four to five years older than Victor Frankenstein. Elizabeth is a passive, nurturing woman and she marries Victor Frankenstein.
De Lacey Family
The De Lacey Family includes De Lacey, an old blind man; his son and daughter, Felix and Agatha; and a woman named Safie that is engaged to Felix. This family risks wealthiness and fortune for their blind father. The monster watches this family and learns how to interact with people and speak. Once he reveals himself to the De Lacey Family they reject him and chase him away.
Henry Clerval
Henry is Victor Frankensteins good childhood friend. When Frankenstein becomes fatally sick, it is Henry who nurses Victor back to health. Henry worked for his father but, he became unhappy and decided to follow Victor and become a scientist. Henrys cheerful, joyful and blissful personality contradicts Victors sorrowful, melancholy, depressive personality. Victors creation eventually murders Henry.
Justine Moritz
Justine was adopted into the Frankenstein family while Victor Frankenstein was growing up. Justine grew up to be the Frankenstein family house keeper. Justine was accused of murdering William Frankenstein, Victor Frankensteins younger brother. The monster was actually responsible of the murder of William. Justine was executed because, she was accused of murdering William. The monster frames Justine by placing Williams locket into her pocket.
Robert Walton
Robert is an Arctic explorer. His letters are at the beginning and end of Frankenstein. Robert finds Victor on the ice and nurses him back to health. Victor later tells Robert his story, including the monster. He writes all of Victors stories down in letters and sends them to his sister, Margret Saville, to where she lives in England.
Mrs. Margaret Saville
Mrs. Margret Saville is the sister of Robert Walton. Margret receives the letters from her brother about Victor Frankensteins stories and details them.
Alphosone Frankenstein
Alphosone is Victor Frankensteins father and Elizabeth and Justine's adoptive father. Alphosone is very sympathetic towards his son, Victor. Alphosone reminds Victor the importance of family whenever Victor is doubting.
William Frankenstein
William is the youngest brother of Victor Frankenstein. He is the baby of the Frankenstein family. The monster murders William Frankenstein and frames Justine. The monster kills William because he wanted to get revenge on Victor Frankenstein for abandoning him. The death of William deeply saddens Victor causing him to become depressed. Victor Frankenstein now regrets creating the monster because he strangled his youngest brother.
The Second Monster
The second monster is the second creation on Victor Frankenstein. He creates this monster for his first monster so that he could have a companion. Horrified by the possible consequences, he destroys the second monster, enraging the first monster, causing him to go onto a killing rampage.
